ABOUT

SANIJA REJA ASKE is a fashion brand that does not want to be defined by time. Each collection is a story for itself or perhaps even a fairytale if you're more of a dreamy person. The clothes are full of magic, humorously naughty, and for people who do not want to get lost in a crowd of everyday life.

Sanija reja

Studying at NTF (Faculty of Sciences and engineering) in the department of textile and fashion design lead her to become a part of Young @ Squat crew, a group of talented and promising young designers who had quite a big influence on the fashion industry in Slovenia. Their collaboration took them all over Europe. From fashion shows in countries of former Yugoslavia to Dutch Maastricht and making their round all the way to an exhibition called Between Sense and Sanity that was held in London, Dublin and Wales organised by the Embassy of Slovenia. This was their debut collection on the International Fashion Showcase held by the British Council and British Fashion Council. Being in touch with her roots came in handy when Sanija took part in the exhibition and symposium called R.E.D – Roots of European Design dealing with connections in design between the past and the present time.

She is most drawn to the things and details that other people seem to miss of find irrelevant. There is also her love for all things connected with history which was one on the main reasons she decided to take art residency in Vienna, one of the most historically enriched cities in Europe. One month of living abroad and being surrounded with secession on every corner left a big mark on her and on the collections that followed.

Lately the designer spends her time between Slovenia’s capital- Ljubljana, where she does most of her work and her home town in Goriška Brda that fill her with the inspiration she needs. Sanija continues to evolve and so does her collections which gotten more and more feminine in the past few seasons but still hold that roughness that can be seen in her leather bags, belts and other details which have kind of become her signature sign.
